Objective

Students will organize the main information about a character which may help them better understand the character as well as the author's theme in a story.

Method

 
  • After the reading of a story ask students to answer the following questions about a character, or attempt this strategy as a class.
    character analysis
  • After completing this analysis, ask students to examine what they wrote. Using this information try to write out a major theme of the story read.
